Mutation (Intkal) Application Format after Death in Punjab: Free Word Download
When a landowner dies, the land records (Jamabandi) must be changed into the names of the legal heirs, or of the person named in the Will. This change is called mutation, or intkal. Under the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887, the Patwari enters the mutation and a revenue officer sanctions it after hearing the parties. This application starts the process. How to fill and use it
Common mistakes to avoid
- Not naming all legal heirs, including daughters.
- Wrong Khasra number or share copied from an old fard.
- Assuming mutation gives ownership. It only records it; a disputed title is decided by a civil court.
